Diamond Lake will be valued in future generations for its balance of natural beauty and recreational accessibility to all. Beauty and peacefulness will be preserved in the lake’s natural setting and promote quality of life spent with family and friends, resting and relaxing. Stakeholders will work together on behalf of the lake.
Goal 1: Reach a balance between high quality, unimpeded recreation (swimming, boating) and a healthy, balanced aquatic plant community.
Goal 2: Prevent the establishment of aquatic invasive species through community awareness and sustainable management of aquatic plants.
Goal 3: To have balanced, healthy fish communities supported by quality conditions necessary for survival.
Goal 4: Maintain and improve current water quality conditions in Diamond Lake.
Goal 5: To have a quality and responsible recreational experience on Diamond Lake.
Goal 6: Review the Diamond Lake Management Plan annually or as needed.
The alliance is staffed by volunteers who have an interest in Diamond Lake. Residents from Mundelein, West shore Park, Oak Terrance, lake front condos and individual home owners often attend as well as community leaders from the Mundelein Park district, the Indian Creek water shed, and the Lake County Health Department. To get involved, please join us at one of our monthly meetings.
Monthly meetings are held the third Monday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Countryside Fire Station, 801 S. Midlothian Road in Mundelein. For more information: Contact us at email@example.com.
